Prominent openly gay Canadian politician George Smitherman has decalred his candidacy for the mayor of Toronto (Canada’s largest city). Smitherman quit his post as deputy priemer of the province of Ontario to prepare his 2010 bid for the city’s top Job. Toronto’s mayor races are no stranger to colorful candiates including a drag queen and semi homeless man. If he wins he’s definately be one of the most prominent openly gay politicans in all of North America.
